El panel sobre productos dietéticos, nutrición y alergias de la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Alimentaria (EFSA), sigue adoptando opiniones en relación a las solicitudes de declaraciones saludables relativas a la reducción del riesgo de enfermedad y el desarrollo y salud de los niños, que se encuentran bajo el ámbito del artículo 14 del Reglamento (EC) Nº 1924/2006 de 20 de diciembre, relativo a las declaraciones nutricionales y de propiedades saludables en los alimentos. Así mismo, también se han publicado otras opiniones en relación a solicitudes de declaraciones saludables distintas a las relativas a la reducción del riesgo de enfermedad y al desarrollo y la salud de los niños, que estén basadas en pruebas científicas recientemente obtenidas y/o que incluyan una solicitud de protección de los datos sujetos a derechos de propiedad industrial, bajo el artículo 13.5 del mencionado Reglamento.

Las opiniones científicas describen las conclusiones de la evaluación del panel de expertos sobre la sustentación científica que apoya a las solicitudes de las declaraciones saludables.

Estas opiniones servirán de base a la Comisión Europea y a los Estados Miembros, en los siguientes pasos que son la posible autorización de las mencionadas declaraciones saludables.
