Recognized Mineral Waters List
The Directive 2009/54/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 18th of 2009 on the exploitation and marketing of natural mineral waters, establishes on its first article that each Member State shall inform the Commission about the recognition that has been granted or withdrawn as natural mineral waters on national territory or in a third country. The list of recognized natural mineral waters as such will be published on the Official Journal of the European Union.
That list is periodically published on DG SANCO’s webpage of the European Commission: Last update of the list of mineral waters recognized in the EU and in the EEA (Iceland and Norway): 21/12/2011
Are obliged to be registered on the Health General Register for Food Businesses and Foods (RGSEAA) the natural mineral waters and the spring waters, whenever its extraction is done on national territory or third countries.
