Apartado objetivos de AESANEFSA call for data on additives

09/02/2010

The European Commission, following consultations with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), must set up a programme for the re-evaluation by EFSA of the safety of food additives permitted before 20 January 2009, as set out in Article 32 of Regulation 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on food additives.

On 23 November EFSA issued a call for scientific data on the following food additives permitted in the EU: waxes, emulsifiers, stabilisers, gelling agents, preservatives and antioxidants.

With the objective of collecting as much data as possible, the European Food Safety Authority requested, via its web page, the submission of all available scientific data on the above mentioned additives.

All parties interested in sending data for inclusion in EFSA’s risk evaluation can do so electronically to the following email foodadditives@efsa.europa.eu. The submission deadline has been extended, according to the group of additives in question, from the 23 February 2010 to:

  1. Waxes: 23/03/2010.
  2. Preservatives and antioxidants: 23/04/2010.
  3. Emulsifiers, stabilisers and gelling agents: 23/05/2010.

Contributors are kindly requested to send copies of the said data to nomativat@msps.es
