The Basic Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality has been published in the Official Government Gazette following Royal Decree 200/2012, of 23 January.
Royal Decree 1823/2011, of 21 December, reorganising the ministerial departments in order to develop the Government reform policy agenda, and to achieve maximum austerity and efficiency in their action and increased efficiency in the working of the National Government, considered it necessary to reform the ministerial structure creating, in article 1, the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, and at the same time in article 14, indicating the basic functions of the Ministry and listing its higher authorities.
Subsequently, Royal Decree 1887/2011, dated 30 December, establishing the basic organisational structure of the ministerial departments, developed the above, establishing, in article 13, the structure of the same up to general management level, continuing the process of rationalisation and simplification of the administrative structures.
The present royal decree which continues with this simplification process complies with that established in the second final clause of Royal Decree 1887/2011, dated 30 December, completing the basic structure of the Department up to general deputy management level.
