Conference on the Plan for Reducing Salt Intake15/01/2010
Coinciding with the launch of the Plan for Reducing Salt Intake, AESAN organised a two-day conference from 19–20 November 2009 at the Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia, Spain). This meeting was attended by eminent experts from various fields: clinicians, scientific-technical societies, sociologists, representatives from the food and drink industries, from distribution, from regional health management, etc., in order to offer different perspectives and experiences.
The meetings were planned with the aim of sharing with these experts current information and results from AESAN studies and investigations into salt intake in Spain, and in order to establish the necessary actions and measures to be introduced in a practical and real sense, so as to implement the plan for the reduction in salt intake with the widest possible consensus.
