Participation in International Projects

The role of the EURLMB in the European project will be to train the professional sectors involved, as well as the interested European networks. It will also participate in the validation exercises of the technologies developed and in the study and quality control of the toxic materials used for the development of the technology. The spheres of each project are:

Biocop

The main goal of BioCop is to develop rapid and efficient transcriptomics, proteomics and biosensor-based technologies to measure the effect of different contaminants in food, such as pesticides, shellfish toxins, endocrine disrupters, therapeutics, heavy metals and mycotoxins.

The EURLMB is participating in Work Package 5 of the project, which aims to develop an optical biosensor for PSP toxins to allow the routine analysis of these toxins in shellfish.

Detectox

The overall objective of this project is to develop a multi-channel, high-throughput biosensor for the detection of diarrheic shellfish toxins, yessotoxins, pectenotoxins, azaspiracids and gymnodimine.
